Cathy Dreyer: The first woman to head operations at Kruger National park in South Africa

 Her Voice News

Meet Cathy Dreyer, the first woman to head operations at Kruger National Park, South Africa.

She is also known as the “Rhino Whisperer”, because of her commitment to black rhino conservation. She is the First Woman to Ever Hold This Role, and for the first time in history, Cathy Dreyer is setting a new precedent for leadership in conservation.

In a field traditionally dominated by men, she shows up with empathy, strength, and strategy, thereby earning the prestigious Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa, presented by Sir David Attenborough.

Being the first Woman and South African, to win this Award, Cathy said, “Leadership is a privilege.” She also added that she is not in this for the title, but for the land, the people, and the animals that depend on Kruger’s future.

Cathy is creating space for young African women to imagine careers in conservation, field science, and environmental protection.

And one thing we know for sure is that, Cathy Dreyer is not just making history, she's protecting its future.
