HER VOICE, HER POWER: TAIWO OLOLADE SALVADOR ON LEADERSHIP, POLITICS, AND COMMUNITY IMPACT

 Her voice news

In the ever evolving landscape of politics, education, and community development, few women have carved a path as boldly as Mrs. Taiwo Ololade Salvador (Fasuyi). A seasoned advocate, political strategist, and community leader, Salvador embodies the strength of resilience, service, and grassroots empowerment.

From her early days in Nigeria to her years in the United States, Salvador has consistently proven that the voice of a woman can move communities and shape systems. “Right from my school days, I found it easy to speak and listen to people, no matter the situation, she recalls. “Even in the U.S., I worked with people from all walks of life and always achieved results. When I returned to Nigeria, I naturally found myself leading women’s groups, and the experience reinforced my belief that women can and should take the lead in their communities.”

Salvador’s portfolio of impact is vast. She is the Founder of TOS Educational Initiative, a program focused on literacy empowerment and promoting a strong reading culture among Nigerian students. In politics, she has been deeply involved in grassroots mobilization as the Founder of APC Women of NYC, an initiative that educates women on political participation, and has served as Southwest Zonal Coordinator for The Asiwaju Group (TAG) during the Tinubu/Shettima campaigns. Her voice also extends to cultural advocacy as the Social Secretary of the Brazilian Descendants Association in Lagos Island, where she works to preserve heritage and improve the welfare of her community.

But her journey has not been without challenges. “One of the unique barriers I’ve faced is trust,” Salvador admits. “In Nigeria’s political space, merit is often overlooked, and loyalty is constantly tested. As a woman, working in this field requires tenacity, focus, and the ability to rise above the distractions.”

Beyond politics and advocacy, Salvador’s legacy is tied to her vision for women in leadership. She passionately encourages young women to start their journeys at the grassroots. “Don’t wait to be appointed or selected. Join your local party structures, show up, and demonstrate your value to your community first. Leadership begins with service.”

Her impressive record of service includes roles with the National Council of Women Society (NCWS), Women in Politics Forum (WIPF), Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS), and the APC Presidential Campaign Council New Media team. She has also contributed to multiple campaign groups in Nigeria and abroad, cementing her reputation as a powerhouse in grassroots politics and advocacy.

Today, as the Chairman of All Zonal Leaders for APC Women Support Groups and Zonal Organising Secretary (2024), Salvador continues to inspire. Her life’s work remains a testimony to the strength of women’s voices in shaping politics, culture, and community growth.

Her advice to the next generation of women leaders is clear: “Be active, confident, and consistent. Don’t be afraid to stand out. Resilience and service will open doors for you, and as you rise, never forget to lift others with you.”
